With 2022 coming to an end, we wanted to take this opportunity to look back on the year that was. And what a year it’s been…!
Just like the past few years, 2022 was still marred with the impacts of COVID. But thankfully, many changes were made, and our team was relieved when they no longer had to wear masks in the office and later on when they no longer had to wear one on public transport!
In April, we expanded our team when we welcomed Maddi, our paralegal. Many of our clients would now know Maddi having dealt with her during their matters. Maddi has been an integral part of helping the team grow in 2022 and has helped Catherine and Tom continue to build strong relationships with our clients.
Not long after, we welcomed another member to the LawBase family. Tom with his wife Steph welcomed baby number 2! LawBase was so excited to meet little miss Claudia and welcome her to the LawBase family.
During 2022, our team traveled to Brisbane (hello open borders!) for our annual planning session. Not only was it a great time to get together and work through our future goals but it was also an opportunity for some team members to meet each other in person for the first time, whilst others got to catch up for the first time in 2 years thanks to COVID.
Meanwhile, we introduced our new membership plan, so our clients could have the benefit of in-house legal advice without the exorbitant cost that often comes with it.
In an Australian first, we conducted our first conference IN THE METAVERSE! We partnered with Canadian law firm, Zannes Law, to invite some of our clients and partners into Somnium Space, a virtual platform, where we ran a seminar on the legal considerations of doing business in the Metaverse.
All this whilst providing accessible and conversational commercial law services to our clients to help them start, grow and protect their businesses.
Wow, it’s been a big year and our team deserves a well-earned break. Our office will close at 12pm on 23 December 2022 and reopen at 9am on 16 January 2023.
